"We know what we are, but know not what we may be." ~ William Shakespeare
From the time I could read, I was drawn to the fantastical tales of fairy tales to "The Wind in the Willows", and onto "Romeo and Juliet." I possess a distinct memory of my kindergarten year; comfortably seated in front of the sunny large glass door, with a view out to the courtyard. Every day I check-out my favorite book; viewing the colorful pages of "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves" and allowed myself to be transported to a magical, make-believe world. Perhaps at the time, I created my own wishing well of unrealized dreams. When I was growing up, I loved to create rhyming stories in my head, on paper and speaking with a microphone into my dad's old recording device from the 1970's. The belly laughing with tears streaming down our faces, went on for hours between my younger sister, cousin and myself as the stories unfolded. I began to recruit some of my classmates to put on puppet shows, succeeding the simply amazing third-grade scripts I'd written.,,,yikes! Music, performance and writing were integral pieces of my early years from singing in the church choir, playing the piano and oboe, school productions to drama camps. Writing is and has always been, an extension of my creative side; merging silly, whole-hearted fun to illustrate tangible lessons through high school and college. I've discovered there is a certain happiness in being silly and allowing myself to pulled into the unknown terrain of pure joy that we experience as children. I enjoy writing both children's stories and whimsical musings to deeper, meaningful poetry. During my time working with the pediatric population, as an occupational therapist, I continue to make up rhyming stories and songs when I'm playing with my clients, as well as all the ideas for Mag Musings.
